On Tuesday night, at the half-time of the game between the Lakers and the Grizzlies, that the purple and gold won, former player Pau Gasol was honored by getting his jersey number retired.

Gasol took over a day to write about it, as he says that he is still processing it all, he got emotional as it was a great ceremony, and many remembered Kobe Bryant, who was Gasol's teammate and close friend.

Pau has written on his Twitter: "Still processing it all. What a wonderful night! I'll never forget it. Thank you all so much for all the love!! @Lakers"

Gasol and Kobe Bryant became a great duo and won two back-to-back championships in 2009 and 2010. The two players became close friends, and Pau kept in touch with the Bryant family.

Kareem Abdul-Jabbar was present to witness Gasol's ceremony

The Lakers' showtime-era legend Kareem Abdul-Jabbar was one of the different franchise legends that were present to support and watch the ceremony in honor of Pau Gasol.
