The Lakers GM Rob Pelinka and HC Darvin Ham had the goal of building a contending team for the next season. To do that, they decided to build by bringing the core back of the last season, as the team was able to make it to the WCF but add new faces that could bring the edge that was needed to win the championship title.

One of the most promising names Pelinka and Ham signed this summer is Cam Reddish, a talented Forward that hasn't been able to explode the way was expected, still, the purple and gold believe they can make him work.

But coach Ham has him in mind for a shorter role than the one the fans first expected, as Max Christie will be the first choice to be LeBron James' substitute in the games and leaving Reddish as the third option.

A recent report by NBA insider Jovan Buha has revealed that coach Ham is impressed with what Max Christie has improved and will be making him part of the team's rotation and Cam Reddish will have less playing time but will be able to contend for a bigger role.

Max Christie was the best Laker in the Summer League

The LA Lakers were disappointed in the Summer League as they had three wins and two losses. But the player that didn't disappoint and showed he is NBA-ready was Max Christie. The fans are hoping for the rookie to have in his sophomore season a breakout role.
