The Los Angeles Lakers superstar Anthony Davis has not only signed a massive extension of three years and 186 million, to have a 62 million per year salary.

The media has been trying to sell the narrative that AD isn't worth that money and that the Lakers should've let the star too because of his injury record and the number of games he hasn't played.

But for ESPN's JJ Redick, that's not the reason why the Lakers should've let go of Davis but because for the team to have a chance at winning another championship title, the star should lead the team over LeBron James.

But for Redick, Davis is not an alpha and while a great player, he isn't a great leader, and that could hurt the team. Still, Rob Pelinka and Coach Ham believe in the star and what he is capable of doing.

Anthony Davis will be a Lakers through 2028

With the extension Davis got, the Lakers star will be around for the team until 2028. Many believed this move was made to start building ahead of the end of LeBron James' era with LA.
