Today is the day that Anthony Davis is officially eligible for an extension for 3 years with the Los Angeles Lakers. A lot has been speculated about whether the team should extend him or not, but seems that all parties agreed to continue their partnership.

Recently the Lakers GM Rob Pelinka spoke about it and while he wasn't able to say if they are going to extend the superstar, he implied they will, as stated that are impressed with him and what Davis has done with the team.

Also, the Lakers governor and owner Jeanie Buss implied they want to continue their partnership with AD so it would be a matter of days for the deal to get done, as recent reports by NBA insider Jovan Buha has the Lakers wanting to extend Davis before training camp starts.

The Lakers will be extending Anthony Davis for 3 years and 168 million, today is officially eligible, even when a deal could get done in the next few weeks and not necessarily today.

The reason the Lakers will extend Anthony Davis revealed

Even when the face of the Lakers franchise continues to be LeBron James, the reality is that the best player is Anthony Davis, as James is 38 years old and while great he isn't his younger version anymore. AD is the one that leads the team to win another championship title, that's why the Lakers will extend him for three more years despite his injury record.
