The Los Angeles Lakers failed to have a considerable trade this past offseason, which has made a lot of fans and even NBA experts and analysts question the job that GM Rob Pelinka is doing with the team.
It seems that Pelinka is making more mistakes than hits, but there was a particularly effective trade that made the team become the NBA champion of 2019-2020. In the 2019 offseason, the championship with Anthony Davis was the goal, and that was achieved.
This was the one time that Pelinka did things right, and Davis was expected to become the face of the franchise once LeBron James retired or changed teams. But two years later, the two biggest stars aren't enough anymore.
James is in his year 20, and Davis has been missing more games than staying healthy, so a new working trade needs to happen for Pelinka to gain some credit for what he is doing with the team.
Since the 17th championship for the Lakers happened in 2020, GM Rob Pelinka has shaken up the roster completely, that the coaching staff has a new face in Darvin Ham and the team's roster has only two remaining players, Anthony Davis and LeBron James.
