The offseason hasn't ended and the Lakers have their roster set for training camp, but with another spot available, they could go to sign another center, especially since the Sacramento Kings waived two.

ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski recently reported "ESPN Sources: After signing JaVale McGee to a free agent deal, the Sacramento Kings are waiving centers Nerlens Noel and Neemias Queta to give them a chance to play elsewhere. Both signed partially guaranteed one-year deals with Kings this summer."

Jaxon Hayes and Christian Wood are both under 220 pounds. If the Lakers want a bigger body center to help AD with the 82-game grind Neemias Queta is 250. The Lakers have an open roster spot.

Weight is important for competing with bigs like Nikola Jokic and Giannis Antetokounmpo in the playoffs and when it's necessary. Noel or Neemias could be the 15th player for the Lakers.

Christian Wood's role for the Lakers will be coming off the bench

Wood signed with the Lakers in hopes of earning a role as a starter in coach Ham's lineups. It looks like a big possibility after it was revealed that Anthony Davis requested help for the five positions, but at least at the start of the regular season, Wood will come off the bench and Rui Hachimura will be starting over him.
