Having won 17 NBA championships in all its history, it is not an easy task to pick the top five LA Lakers team. And while it can be subjective, these are the considered best teams in franchise history. No. 5 The 1984-1985 Showtime Lakers ended Boston's 8-0 Finals streak in head-to-head matchups. The Lakers manage to beat the Celtics in the Finals and become the only team ever to seal the victory at Boston Garden.

No. 4 The 2000-01 Lakers. The most dominant duo in the NBA, Kobe Bryant and Shaquille O'Neal, won their first of three championships together. No. 3 The 2019-20 Lakers. Even when these Lakers weren't as complete a team as some past iterations, LeBron James led to the most recent championship with an also outstanding Anthony Davis.

No1. 1971-72 Lakers. The best Lakers roster of all time, with a strong possibility of being the NBA's all-time best team. Wilt Chamberlain and Jerry West led them. They won 69 games, which remained the league's best-ever record for 24 years until Michael Jordan's Bulls pulled off a 72-10 season in 1995-96.
