One of the saddest moments for every sports fan is seeing one of their idol athletes retire after a successful career. But, unfortunately, that moment is coming closer for a couple of the greatest athletes.
Cristiano Ronaldo and LeBron James don't have to demonstrate anything else with their lucrative and successful careers; they have done everything they want and have their names written in gold in their sports history.
But at 37 years old, and both being close to 38, they aren't as great as they used to be and have been hurting their teams lately instead of helping them. In addition, Cristiano is "unemployed" as he doesn't have a club to play with.
Still, CR7 is playing in the world cup with his national team Portugal, but in the latest game, he was sitting on the bench for their best performance. Similar to the Lakers having their best five games without LeBron James, who missed them because of an injury.
Sports fans worldwide are getting hit with the realization that an era is ending as some of the world's greatest athletes have aged and are close to retirement. In tennis, it has already happened with the retirement of Roger Federer; in the NFL in a couple of years, maybe less, maybe more, Tom Brady will retire, and LeBron with soccer's superstars Messi and CR7 are on that list too.
