This player could be the newest trade target for the Lakers

Right now, the Los Angeles Lakers are probably the eighth or ninth-best team in the Western Conference. They just signed Patrick Beverley, which improves their roster, especially on the defensive side of the ball. However, they still need to make some moves if they want to upgrade the team for a chance not only to reach the playoffs but also to compete in them.

There have been many reports that link different players to the Lakers. Among those players are the Pacers duo of Myles Turner and Buddy Hield. Donovan Mitchell is another player linked to the team. Now, there's a report that the Purple and Gold might be interested in trading for Cam Reddish.

“Sources contend unprotected picks are more important to Utah, which reportedly is after the Lakers’ 2027 and 2029 picks in what could be a three-team deal. The Lakers could also net Cam Reddish in a three-team deal since they pursued him at the trade deadline. Reddish is part of agent Rich Paul’s stable of players — which means LeBron James and Anthony Davis could be on board," explained Marc Berman of the New York Post.

Cam Reddish might not be the best option for the Lakers as he hasn't been a top player since he entered the NBA in the 2019 season. Last year he averaged 10.1 points, 2.1 rebounds, and 1.0 assists in 49.

Best option for the Lakers

From all the players that have been linked to the players, the one that makes most sense is the trade for Donovan Mitchell. He is an all-star player and could be a great addition to the duo of Anthony Davis and LeBron James.
