In the last season, the Lakers SG Austin Reaves was able to earn a spot in coach Ham's starting five lineups after benching Lonnie Walker and Malik Beasley.

Reaves started as the third option and ended the campaign being the starter and will continue to be for the next season. Austin was even capable of becoming the third-best player on the roster, just behind LeBron James and Anthony Davis.

Now Reaves is with Team USA and on his debut in the showcase game vs. Puerto Rico he show what he is capable of and the HC Steve Kerr has stated Reaves could become a starter. It seems that Austin could repeat what he did with the Lakers, and earn a spot in his team's starting five.

"The ball movement is especially apparent when the second unit, led by Haliburton and Austin Reaves, takes the floor. Kerr has singled out both players -- Reaves in particular -- for their play during training camp, and they are going to be the two most important players coming off the bench, presuming Kerr sticks with his current rotation. If he doesn't, it will be because Haliburton or Reaves earns a chance to move into the starting group."

Austin Reaves was the most popular player in Las Vegas

For the Team USA debut, the crowd was the loudest for the Lakers SG Austin Reaves, and not only that but at the end of the game the fans seek him the most for a picture and autographs. Reaves was the most popular player of the night.
