The Los Angeles Lakers didn't go big this offseason, as they bet for continuity and have stopped trying to build superteams, especially after the fiasco that became the Russell Westbrook signing for the 2021-22 campaign.
The Clippers are trying to build a superteam, as they already had Paul George, Kawhi Leonard, landed former Laker Russell Westbrook, and now James Harden after a lot of drama between the superstar and the 76ers in the summer.
LA will be paying James Harden about 35 million this season to James Harden, which is massive compared to what the biggest new signing for the Lakers was this offseason.
The biggest the Lakers spent this summer was 33 million for a three-year deal to PG Gabe Vincent who just played the NBA Finals against the Denver Nuggets.
Bringing back AD was a top priority for GM Rob Pelinka and he didn't hesitate to offer the star a three-year 186 million extension, which will be making Davis a record of 62 million annually.
