Anthony Davis has been playing as a center even when he considers himself a better Power Forward. The Lakers GM Rob Pelinka has now signed the young center Jaxson Hayes to play alongside AD, but there's not a backup center after that.

Only the two-way signed rookie Colin Castleton is left as a size center, but Pelinka and Ham have stated they are looking to add at least one more big.

Christian Wood is currently the best center in free agency and has been reported to be Pelinka's top choice. But despite just having extended Anthony Davis for three years and 186 million, the GM can only offer the vet min to Wood.

The Mavs were paying around 13 million per year to Christian, and the Lakers being able to offer him around 2 million annually could be the reason Wood hasn't decided to play for the Purple and Gold yet.

Ham believes the Lakers can make Wood work

Christian Wood is a good player, but his lack of defensive skills and his bad rep could be hard to handle. Lakers HC Darvin Ham believes they can make him work, still is up to Wood to accept the vet min deal.
