Last week the Lakers owner and governor let it clear, LeBron James will be getting his jersey number retired to the rafters once he retires, and with also the recent announcement of Kobe Bryant finally getting his statue unveiled next year, fans and the NBA world are wondering, does LeBron James deserves to get a statue with the Lakers?

Not only the fans have been debating about whether LeBron already deserves a statue or not, as ESPN's show First Talk has heated the debate.

Brian Windhorst believes that for the moment, LeBron James getting his jersey number is enough and that the Lakers star still has to at least win another championship title to deserve a statue. Also thinks that James will be getting a statue with the Cavs and his number retired in all the three teams he has played for.

Unlike Kendrick Perkins who believes that LeBron James already deserves his statue with the Lakers after winning an NBA championship title, bringing back the purple and gold popularity, breaking the all-time scoring record, and all the numbers that James has been able to pull off.

Kobe Bryant's date revealed for his statue unveiling

August 8 of 2024 will be the date, in honor of the two jersey numbers worn by the Lakers legend Kobe Bryant will have his statue be unveiled, as recently reported.
