There is no doubt that the Los Angeles players have had some of the greatest players in NBA history. Magic Johnson, Kobe Bryant, Shaquille O'Neal, Wilt Chamberlain, among others. They also had Kareem-Abdul-Jabbar, who holds the current all-time scoring record. According to NBA analyst, Shannon Sharpe, he might be one of the most disrespected players ever.
According to the former NFL player, Kareem had an amazing track record since high school, all the way to the NBA. “You can make the case that Kareem is the greatest high school basketball player, there's no doubt he is the greatest college basketball player, and you can make the argument that he's he greatest NBA player,” explained Shannon Sharpe.
Patrick Beverley and Russell Westbrook, from enemies to teammates
This is how Jeanie Buss believes the Lakers will be contender
Sharpe argues that even with all the achievements he had, no one thinks of Kareem as the greatest of all time. “He has 6 MVP, he has 6 championships,. third most rebounds, most points, ten NBA Finals, But for whatever reason.. he was a guy that was really easy to dislike, maybe him changing his faith had something to do with that…”
At the end anyone could make the argument that Kareem is, in fact, the greatest player to ever played the game. Still, there are many arguments to be made for many players including the Lakers legend. But Shannon Sharpe is right by saying that Kareem Abdul-Jabbar doesn't have the respect that he deserves.
It's hard to rank all the Lakers to ever played in the NBA, especially with so many good players. But this time Kareem ranks in the top three. Just behind Magic Johnson and Kobe Bryant. There can be an argument for either being the best.
