LeBron James is one of the best players to ever played basketball. Since he was in high school, he has been considered a once in a generation player and he hasn't disappointed since he joined the Cavaliers 20 seasons ago. Now, new generations are coming, starting with Giannis Antetokounmpo. He took a while to show his true potential, but right now, he's one of the most dominant players in the NBA.

New Lakers head coach Darvin Ham decided to compare both players. He was with the Milwaukee Bucks for four years as an assistant coach. He won a championship alongside Giannis, so he got to see the Greek player first hand every day. Now he will coach the Lakers with LeBron James as their best player.

Former NBA player gives his input in the GOAT debate

The new head coach argued during an interview for Clutchpoints that both players are very similar, in a way that both are great and dominant players. “There is no difference. They’re both hungry, they’re both great, and they’re both generational type players,” explained Ham.

Last season both players posted very similar numbers, proving the coach's point. LeBron James finished  the season averaging 30.3 points, 8.2 rebounds and 6.2 assists in 56 games. Meanwhile, Giannis averaged 29.9 points, 11.6 rebounds and 5.8 assists in 67 games.

Will Giannis occupy LeBron James' place in the NBA?

Giannis took his time to shine in the NBA as he entered the league in 2011, but in 2017 he started to dominate the league. Since then, he has been an all-star player with two MVPs and one championship and Finals MVP. There's no doubt that he is alongside LeBron, the most dominant player in the NBA.
