LeBron James is one of the greatest if not the greatest players in NBA history. Now, at age 38, he will be playing his 20th season in the league. According to NBA analyst Nick Wright, LeBron James should receive special treatment from the Lakers just as Tom Brady had this season from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

“I would cut LeBron the slack I’m going to cut Brady. If I am being honest, if LeBron was mysteriously gone from training camp for 10 days, would I say ‘bad teammate not doing it’ or would I say, ‘guys, he's been in the league 20 years, if he needs time’ … I'd say the latter not the former.” expressed the host of First Things First.

The Lakers cannot win a championship with their current roster

The Lakers right now have a below-average roster. They improved by adding the former All-defensive player Patrick Beverley. Still, it doesn't look like they have the team to compete for a championship right now. They need LeBron James at all costs to take them to the playoffs an even longer.

LeBron James will probably report to training camp at the same time as all his teammates, because that's the kind of player he is. But if he did ask for some time off, the Lakers would give him the time he needs to get to the start of the season at the top of his game.

Is LeBron the equivalent of Tom Brady?

Tom Brady is undoubtedly and unequivocally the best player in NFL history. He is not only defying time, but he is still winning at age 45. LeBron is in the argument of the greatest player ever, and still playing at a high level even at age 38.
