No Chance. The Lakers are not going to get to the playoffs

The Los Angeles Lakers were a disaster last year. The team missed the playoffs after only winning 33 games. LeBron James and Anthony Davis were supposed to be the pillars of the team but they were out for a bunch of games due to injury. Russell Westbrook was supposed to be the all-star player the team needed to take the next step, but he had his worst season since his second year in the league.

Now, the team is trying to avoid missing the playoffs for the second year in a row, but the team isn't much better than what it was last year. They traded for Patrick Beverley and that upgraded their defense. But the team tried to trade everything they had for Kyrie Irving and that didn't pay off. Now Mike Greenberg believes the team can't reach the playoffs without Irving on their team.

"This was their chance. Getting Kyrie Irving was the only chance they had. I may be wrong, but I believe the Lakers are going to be out of the playoffs again this year. Maybe make the Play-In and maybe work their way in, but if we're considering a playoff team, a top-six seed in the Western Conference, I don't see it for the Lakers," Mike Greenberg said.

The NBA analyst might have a point because the Lakers haven't solved their injury problems as they are still depending on what LeBron and Davis can do. Now they added another injury-prone player in Beverley. That's why the rankings have the Lakers as the 17th-best team in the NBA.
