The Lakers haven't made many moves during this offseason. So far, they traded for all-NBA defensive player Patrick Beverley. The team has gotten better but not enough to compete with the top teams in the Western Conference. Still, former Lakers player Byron Scott believes that the trio of LeBron James, Anthony Davis, and Russell Westbrook still can play up to a very high level.

Last season the all-star trio was a disappointment. Anthony Davis spent most of the season on the bench dealing with injuries. LeBron James, despite being the best player on the roster, too did miss a couple of games due to some injuries. Finally, Russell Westbrook played for most of the season but he had one of the worst seasons in his career.

The Los Angeles Lakers have a big plan for next summer

The worst case scenario for LeBron James and the Lakers

"Trying to force that whole situation to work, it was just chaos from the start and also the fact that Anthony [Davis] wasn’t healthy enough to have any type of cohesiveness... I’m hoping this year that they’re healthy, I’m hoping that they’ve been working out and getting ready for the season, getting ready for the preseason and all that stuff because I think those guys together could be dynamic," explained Byron Scott.

The Lakers have tried to trade Russell Westbrook since the end of last season. So far, there has been no news about a possible trade which makes us think that he will stay on the team for a couple more weeks. Now, Patrick Beverly could help the trio improve for the next season.

Will Russell Westbrook be traded?

The Lakers are still trying to upgrade their roster. There's the rumor that the Lakers will trade Westbrook to the Pacers for Myles Turner and Buddy Hield.
