The Lakers just made a move in the off season, adding Patrick Beverley from the Utah Jazz. The 14-year-old veteran will be a good addition on the defensive side of the ball. However, the team cannot be satisfied with this. They still need to add a all-star player to play alongside LeBron James and Anthony Davis, or in this case, add two good players that can count as a all-star.

According to Jovan Buha from The Athletic, the Lakers still can have a consolation prize after being shut down in the Kyrie Irving trade, as he is going to stay on the Brooklyn Nets. Buddy Hield and Myles Turner are two players that have been linked to the team for over a week now. The Lakers could bring the two Pacers players for a good deal.

Where will former Los Angeles Lakers player end up playing

Former NBA champion gave compliments to a Lakers players

“The Lakers can do a lot worse than the potential Pacers package of Myles Turner and Buddy Hield as a consolation prize. The catch here is that a Pacers deal would likely require both of Los Angeles’ tradeable future first-round picks (2027 and 2029), which was one of the haggling points in talks with Indiana a few weeks ago (the Lakers have been willing to trade one pick but not both in non-Irving deals),” explained the NBA insider.

Rob Pelinka has made it clear that the only player he would offer two first rounders was Kyrie Irving. Now he has the chance to bring two players to the team that will drastically improve the team. Also, it's possible this trade will include Russell Westbrook. Something that they have tried to do since the end of last season.

Are the Lakers competitive right now?

The addition of Patrick Beverley undoubtedly upgraded the team. However, he is not a player that can put the team on his shoulders and carry it without LeBron James and Anthony Davis. The Lakers still need some pieces to compete with the top teams in the West.
