After a season in which they bet on veteran players, the Los Angeles Lakers are changing the formula and are now looking for young players to have more prominence. Carmelo Anthony, Dwight Howard, Rajon Rondo, Kent Bazemore were some of the veterans who defended the Lakers jersey last season. The tendency to hire experienced players was so strong that the Lakers' average age was mocked on social networks.

Evidently, the formula failed and the veterans were not what was expected. In fact, they actually ended up hurting the team and its future projection. LeBron James, who was the team's leader in almost every area, cannot be included in that list of veterans who failed. Russell Westbrook, who is already a veteran player, is another matter because although he was far from his best version, he was one of those who tried to do things right.

The Lakers still want to add a playmaker to their roster

This season the Los Angeles Lakers front office has decided to go for young players. In the final stage of last season, players like Austin Reaves, Stanley Johnson and Wenyen Gabriel, showed interesting things. In addition to this, players like Max Christie showed good performances during the summer league.

Other players who joined the team were Troy Brown Jr and Damian Jones who, despite not being rookies, are young players. Part of the decision to focus on the young players was the lack of energy and attitude from the veterans. Hopefully, this season will be a much better campaign for the Los Angeles Lakers and they can aspire to great things.

LBJ AND AD + Youngsters

The new formula that will be orchestrated by coach Darvin Ham will be a dynamic between the superstars of the Los Angeles Lakers; LeBron James and Anthony Davis and the talented youngsters from the Lakers. Last season we already saw how LeBron served as a role model for players like Austin Reaves, surely the new youngsters will learn a lot from the king. Now we just have to wait for the injuries to respite Anthony Davis and see how the Russell Westbrook novel will end.
