Russell Westbrook has been the focal point for the Lakers during this offseason. Many believe that he should be either traded or cut. But according to Jeanie Buss and Darvin Ham, there's some room in the team for the former MVP. Now, former Lakers player Byron Scott, believes there's a plan to have Westbrook on the team.

Despite all the trade rumors, Jeanie Buss believes that Russell Westbrook was the Lakers' best player last season. LeBron James also gave his vote of confidence towards Russ. And Darvin Ham has repeatedly argued that he wants to work with the former MVP. Meanwhile, Byron Scott believes Westbrook should play from the bench.

"I think the thing that they should’ve done last year is Frank [Vogel] should’ve had a candid conversation with Russ and said, 'We’re gonna bring you off the bench, and that way you can be Russ. The ball is in your hands and you’re playing against second-tier guys and you’ve been killing first-tier guys for so many years and you’ll be able to facilitate the other guys,” explained Scott on a Bovada Sports segment.

There have been reports that argue that the Lakers are ready to utilize Patrick Beverley and Russell Westbrook. The only problem is whether Russell wants to play for the Lakers one more season and if he is ready to be a player coming from the bench.

Russell Westbrook's future

It seems that the Lakers are missing their chances to trade Russell Westbrook. As days pass by, it seems that the former MVP will play for the Lakers in the upcoming season. We'll just be going to have to see if he accepts his new role in the team.
