The Los Angeles Lakers have been really quiet during the offseason. The biggest move has been signing LeBron James to an extension, and their biggest bet, Kyrie Irving, didn't pay off. Now the team is sitting in limbo as they haven't made a move to improve the roster, and training camp is right around the corner.

Still, according to various reports, Rob Pelinka isn't done making moves. So far, there have been some rumors linking players to the Lakers, but nothing concrete. The last of these rumors involves Knicks star Cam Reddish . According to Hoops Hype's Michael Scotto, the Lakers were close to trading for Reddish last season but it didn't' happen. Now they are back again for the small forward.

The Lakers are already looking for another player to trade for

"The Lakers also have had interest in trading for Knicks forward Cam Reddish, who could also become part of a trade. Last season, the Lakers nearly acquired Reddish as part of blockbuster three-team trade talks between the Lakers, Knicks and Raptors at the time.", commented Scotto.

Cam Reddish has averaged 10.5 points, 1.3 assists and 3.2 rebounds in 133 regular-season games, with both the Atlanta Hawks and the New York Knicks. Those are no MVP numbers but he's only 22-years-old. The Lakers could add another young talent, but with more experience.

Cam Reddish potential

The Lakers could add a former 10th pick overall without spending much. He has a lot of upside that could also benefit the team in a long run. Arguably, his best game was in game six of the 2021 Eastern Conference Finals where he went for 21 points on 6/7 shooting from three-point range.
