A few days ago Los Angeles Lakers executives stated that training camp would be the deadline for the trade of Russell Westbrook and the possible arrival of Kyrie Irving. As the days go by, the rumors of Kyrie Irving coming to the Los Angeles Lakers and Russell Westbrook leaving are becoming more realistic. However, Russell Westbrook is not joining the New York team. Apparently, he is headed to the Utah Jazz

According to Bleacher Report, an expert sports website, the Los Angeles Lakers could receive Kyrie Irving in addition to Patrick Beverley and Rudy Gay who would arrive directly from the Utah Jazz, who would receive two first-round picks from the Lakers and Talen Horton-Tucker, while the Brooklyn Nets would receive Bojan Bogdanovic and Malik Beasly and probably a second-round pick.

This is what we can expect for next season.

They've gone crazy. The Lakers want to risk their future for a player.

Although there is still time, the Los Angeles Lakers want to have their roster complete before training camp so they can focus on their goals as a team. Also before training camp, LeBron James will be hosting a mini-camp in San Diego in which he hopes to get great chemistry between him and his teammates.

The most likely option at this point is that Kyrie Irving comes to the Los Angeles Lakers in exchange for Russell Westbrook, two first-round picks (2027 and 2029), and a likely young player from the Los Angeles Lakers who would be Max Christie or Talen Horton-Tucker. However, the option already presented is very attractive for all three teams as the Lakers would get the much desired Kyrie Irving, the Nets would get Bojan Bogdanovic and a good second-round pick and the Utah Jazz could continue with their team rebuilding project with two first-round picks.

Russell Westbrook's imminent departure

Despite the fact that Darvin Ham, the new head coach of the Los Angeles Lakers, has said that he is excited to coach Russell Westbrook it seems that the Long Beach California native has his bags almost packed to leave Los Angeles. Russell Westbrook will be remembered as one of the superstars who outgrew the Los Angeles Lakers jersey.
