Austin Reaves and Thomas Bryant are two Lakers players that have been standouts in player workouts.

Training camp is just around the corner so it makes sense that there would be some players that try to stand out from the rest rotational players. Right now, the two players that look to have the upper hand from their teammates are Austin Reaves and Thomas Bryant. We just have to see if Darvin Ham decides to consider this for the upcoming season.

Austin Reaves has been in the news a couple of times during this off-season. According to reports, he might be one of the players that might fight for a starting job in the upcoming season. There are also rumors that he might be up for a new deal with the team at the end of the season.

This player has really high demands for the Lakers

The comments about Darvin Ham that will motivate Lakers fans

Thomas Bryant has been a player that hasn't been talked about that much during this offseason. He has a very promising start of the season with the Washington Wizards before tearing his ACL. Now, he is back to be part of the size the Lakers so desperately need. He averaged 13.2 points and 7.2 rebounds in 2020 while knocking down 40.7% of his 3-pointers. He might be a good addition to the rotation of the team.

It seems that the Lakers might not add any other player via trade or free agency. This would give players such as Reaves and Bryant a chance to show their value to the team and maybe manage to help the team get to the playoffs and in so, get that second deal at the end of the season.

Lakers starting five

So far there's no way to know what players might star for the Lakers on Opening Night. Of course, we know that LeBron James, Anthony Davis, and Patrick Beverley are going to be in the lineup. But there's still the question about Russell Westbrook and his possible trade.
